  WARNING:

ALL CUSTOMERS/SITE VISITORS THAT OWN HP DV2000/DV6000/DV9000 SERIES LAPTOPS:

Precision Division makes some very drastic modifications to these systems after the motherboard repair to help them run cooler, but we continually perform new in-shop research, studying this GPU failure.

If you own one of these models, whether it has ever broken down before or not, PLEASE - perform the following steps right now. It will be the first step toward proper thermal management of your system:

1) Obtain the latest BIOS update from HP's website. Don't guess! If you don't know how to do it, ask someone who does.

2) Download Speedfan

Speedfan will allow you to monitor your CPU and GPU temperatures. If it is idling at 80c or higher, get it checked out.

PLEASE READ OUR LAPTOP REPAIR FAQ FOR UP-TO-DATE WARNINGS & RECOMMENDATIONS ON LAPTOPS THAT WE ARE SEEING PATTERNS WITH.

Why are you still using Windows?!

Did you know that there are simpler, faster & more reliable Operating Systems available now that can do everything that Windows can do and more?

At Precision Division, we don't think Microsoft Windows is anything special. In fact, we encourage the use of Open Source Operating Systems such as Ubuntu ( Ubuntu.com )

We recommend starting with Linux Mint ( LinuxMint.com )
You can download the Operating System to a CD (ISO - it's not hard!) -  and boot from that CD.
You can demo the OS off the CD, without even installing it! If you like it, just click "install", and follow the on screen instructions. No activation, no defragmenting, no blue screens of death - ever again!

If you're not comfortable installing this amazing Operating System yourself,
bring your system in - we can do it for you!
